Daniel Hackett is certain that he will be ready for national team duties with Italy next summer and Alex Tyus has been suspended from the Israeli national side. Why? Read below.
TYUS SUSPENDED FOR THREE GAMES
Relax, it’s not a domestic ban, but Alex Tyus is suspended for three games from the Israeli national team.
Tyus is suspended due to not showing up for duty for the Israeli national team.
Israel competed in the Eurobasket 2015 Qualifying Rounds and qualified as Group B winners.
HACKETT WILL BE BACK FOR ITALY NEXT SUMMER
So while Tyus has to wait it out on the sidelines, Daniel Hackett has said that he will play for Italy at Eurobasket 2015.
Hackett said once again “sorry” for his behaviour this summer when he left the Italian national training camp without permission. Hackett has been suspended for six months starting from half October and will be able to play just in Euroleague until April.
“I am ready to return to the National Team” said Hackett to Il Corriere della Sera. Hackett admitted that there have been also some problems with Olimpia Milano after his “escape”. “I can’t deny there have been problems with Milano but then we have clarified them. I had offers from Greece and Turkey but my challenge was to remain in Italy, to defend the Serie A championship, to fight in Euroleague with Olimpia and to conquer a medal at Eurobasket with my national team” added Hackett.
