The Houston Rockets are not willing to spend more time trying to salvage their relationship with James Harden and want to trade him.
According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN, though, the Rockets will let Harden go only for ‘a massive package’.
“The sense I get from the Rockets is that their ambition, their goal, their hope is no longer about salvaging the relationship with James Harden and kind of getting him on board.
There’s a realization, you know, his mind is made up. He wants out and there is a determination to say ‘Okay, we get it. This happens in the NBA.’
But just because James Harden wants out doesn’t mean he gets to dictate where and for what [he’s traded],” MacMahon said on the Brian Windhorst Podcast, via Real GM.
Harden has decided to leave Houston and join a top title contender, with the Brooklyn Nets emerging as the favorite to land him.
Harden has three years and $133M left on his current contract with Houston.
