Former NBA superstar and current Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan has reportedly greenlit the drafting of LaMelo Ball if he’s available at No.3. That is according to The Ringer‘s Kevin O’Connor, who cites league sources.

While Ball is considered to be the best prospect in the upcoming NBA Draft, he might not be the right fit for the Minnesota Timberwolves or the Golden State Warriors, although the Warriors were said to be impressed with his workout.

“If the Hornets keep the third pick, league sources say Michael Jordan has given his stamp of approval for the front office to select LaMelo Ball. Ball would define the direction of the franchise as a passing wizard with untapped upside as a scorer and defender.”

According to O’Connor’s Draft guide, Charlotte could also trade up to the No.1 pick to select James Wiseman, with Onyeka Okongwu no longer thought to be under consideration.
