While appearing on the Posted Up with C. Haynes hosted by Yahoo Sports analyst Chris Haynes, big man Anthony Davis, who is officially declining his $28.7 million player option with the Los Angeles Lakers to enter free agency, joked about his current standing:
Davis can now sign for far greater long-term security than what he would have had on the last year of his deal. Last season, the seven-time NBA All-Star averaged 26.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game, while shooting at 50.3 percent from the floor and 33.0 percent from three.
