James Harden’s happiness in Houston may be in question, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times. The Rockets’ superstar preferred Ty Lue or John Lucas for the team’s head coaching position.

Lue agreed to terms to become the LA Clippers’ coach, while Lucas was one of the three finalists for the Rockets’ head coaching vacancy.

The Rockets ended up hiring the former Dallas Mavericks assistant Stephen Silas, who was named head coach for the first time in his career.

However, Harden’s happiness might be at stake, if he isn’t on board with his new head coach. Houston went all-in last summer by trading for Russell Westbrook.

The Rockets gave up a huge amount of picks in this trade and they are not interested in giving up either James Harden or Russell Westbrook.

Despite the great amount of reports suggesting otherwise, the Rockets are still committed to their superstar core, as they’re preparing for another shot on winning a championship next season.
