The Indiana Pacers have interviewed Toronto Raptors assistant coach Nate Bjorkgren for their head coach vacancy.

Raptors head coach Nick Nurse confirmed the news on SiriusXM NBA Radio.

“He’s gonna be a finalist for the Pacer job,” Nurse said. “He’s a good one. Similar path to that I took, coaching in the minors and had a lot of success.”

Nurse added that Bjorkgren has been with him for a long time, as he was Nurse’s assistant with the Iowa Energy (now Iowa Wolves) from 2007-2011.

Bjorkgren was an assistant with the Phoenix Suns from 2015-2017 before joining the Raptors in 2018.

Nurse and Bjorkgren actually met in the championship of the formerly named NBA D League back in 2013 when Nurse coached the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and Bjorkgren coached the Santa Cruz Warriors.
