The Philadephia 76ers fired Brett Brown, after the early first-round exit in the 2019-2020 NBA playoffs in the series against the Boston Celtics.

The Sixers are in the market for a new coach and former NBA champion Ty Lue is interested in taking over the reigns in their bench, per Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.

In particular, Mannix says there is “strong mutual interest” between the former NBA champion and the Philadelphia 76ers.

On the other hand, the Villanova head coach Jay Wright announced his intention to remain in the NCAA and refused the notion he is among the candidates for the Sixers head coaching vacancy.

Lue, who was the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ first-ever championship team in 2016, is going to be a candidate for several coaching vacancies during the offseason.
