Lithuanian champions Zalgiris Kaunas named their new head coach, the 38-year-old Austrian specialist Martin Schiller, per Zalgiris.lt.

“I’m extremely excited to become the new head coach in Kaunas. I’m very thankful and very honored to coach this club with so much tradition. The work that has been done with Zalgiris in the last couple of years has been very good, and I want to keep pushing the program, keep pushing ahead. I’m looking forward to being part of the journey,” – said Zalgiris’ new head coach, as he presented himself to the fans.

Schiller began his coaching career in 2004. He spent most of his career working in Germany and has been an assistant for the country’s national team.

Since 2017, he was the head coach of the Salt Lake City Stars in the NBA G League and was chosen the Coach of the Year this season.

Zalgiris and the Austrian coach have agreed to a two-year deal.
