Pau Gasol celebrates his 40th birthday

Pau Gasol, Spanish legend and one of the best European players to ever play in the NBA, turned 40 years old.

Here are Gasol’s career accomplishments, both in the NBA and on the international stage.

  • 6x All-Star (2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2015, 2016)
  • 2x All-NBA Second Team (2011, 2015)
  • 2x All-NBA Third Team (2009, 2010)
  • 2002 NBA Rookie of the Year
  • 2002 NBA All-Rookie First Team

International:

  • 2006 FIBA World Cup champion, MVP (21.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.4 blocks per game)
  • 3x EuroBasket gold medalist (2009 – 18.7 points, 8.3 rebounds per game, 2011 – 20.1 points, 8.3 rebounds per game, 2015 – 25.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists per game)
  • 2x EuroBasket silver medalist (2003 – 25.8 points, 7.5 rebounds per game, 2007 – 18.8 points, 7.0 rebounds per game)

Gasol is still a free agent, but he has previously stated that joining the Los Angeles Lakers or Barcelona for a final season would be attractive.
