Jamal Crawford is holding out hope over another NBA contract and is staying in shape amid the shutdown. The 40-year-old last played in 2018/19 but is yet to retire and isn’t ruling out a comeback.

Crawford, a three-time 6th Man of the Year, has played 19 seasons in the league, suiting up for the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks, Portland Trail Blazers, Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns.

One of the most respected vets around, Crawford remains keen on landing another NBA contract.

“I think so,” he told Matt Calkins of the Seattle Times when asked if he could sign with a team whenever the hiatus is over. “But if not, I’ll be playing at LA Fitness somewhere, and I’ll have more time to spend with my family.”

Crawford has averaged 14.6 points over the course of his career and recorded a 51-point game while playing for the Suns against the Dallas Mavericks last April, breaking a record set by Michael Jordan as the oldest player to score 50+ points in a game – he was 39 years and 20 days old – as well as one set by Nick Anderson for the most points ever scored by a non-starter.
