It was December 7th of 2012 when Mike Batiste returned to Athens in order to face Panathinaikos for first time, after a 9-year presence to the team. Before the match, a ceremony took place to honour the American center who couldn’t stop crying and he said that his return to the “Greens” is possible.
His prophetic words, the love from the fans, and his desire to wear the green shirt again, brought him today in Athens in order to sign a new contract. Batiste wanted to end his career to the club he loved and play for the fans that performed a standing ovation for him last year.
The 36-year-old center had a mediocre season with Fener and now he has returned to Panathinaikos he will look to play 10-15 minutes a game in the Euroleague’s Regular Season and help in the Greek League with his quality both in defence and offence, boosting the team’s performance and confidence.
