Golden State Warriors will not run COVID-19 tests to asymptomatic individuals as GM Bob Myers said on a conference call with reporters Tuesday afternoon.

The doctors underlined the importance of not testing asymptomatic people in California. Testing shortfalls are really hurting public health officials’ ability to outline the extent of the outbreak in their communities.

“In California, my understanding is that these tests are not readily available, and people who don’t have symptoms shouldn’t be doing that,” Myers said.

“And right now, just to be clear, we’re not different than anybody. We’re just people that happen to be rich or famous or play basketball, but we’re not treating ourselves any differently than anyone else. I think that’s the right thing to do.”

All in all, seven NBA players have tested positive in the new coronavirus the last six days.
