Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel jokingly credited Domantas Sabonis of the Indiana Pacers for becoming the Lakers coach.

The 23-year-old Lithuanian was selected 11th overall by the Orlando Magic in the 2016 NBA draft. He was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder along with Ersan İlyasova and Victor Oladipo for Serge Ibaka on draft night.

He was later traded to the Indiana Pacers to become an All-Star this season. What would have happened if Sabonis was never traded by the Magic? Vogel would still be coaching Orlando.

“I credit (Domantas Sabonis) for me being the Lakers coach, because if we would have not traded he and Victor and kept them in Orlando, I probably would still be coaching the Orlando Magic.”
