Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion CSKA Moscow continued reshaping its new backcourt on Thursday by signing combo guard Ron Baker to a one-year contract.
Baker (1.93 meters, 26 years old) has split his first three pro careers between New York and Washington of the NBA. He played 15 games total for both teams last season after having appeared in 29 for New York the previous season and 52, including 13 as a starter, with the same team in his rookie, 2016-17 season, when he averaged 4.1 points and 2.1 assists.
All told, he has played 96 games in three NBA seasons with averages of 3.1 points and 1.8 assists. Baker also played briefly for Westchester of the G-League.
Prior to turning pro, he spent four seasons at Wichita State University, putting up 13.2 points per game. He helped the school reach the 2013 NCAA Final Four and register a perfect regular-season record the following year.
Baker played for Team USA at the Pan American Games in 2015 and captured a bronze medal. CSKA will be his first club outside his native United States.
