Marshall MK Lions picked up a valuable midweek win to give their hopes of finishing towards the higher end of the 7th to 9th spots in the BBL Championship Table a boost, as they beat PAWS London Capital tonight, 105-64 at Capital City Academy thanks to a third quarter in which they outscored the hosts 19-30.
Although the hosts started off brightly, the Lions, who are gradually re-instating injured Americans EJ Harrison and Frank Holmes, as well as stalwart, Mike New, back into their squad, led 18-29 after ten minutes of play. They then extended this to 33-57 by half time, and the third quarter was a period of runs by both teams – who took it turns to outscore the opposition 8-0, until Milton Keynes went on a 16-0 burst at the end of the quarter, which effectively decided the outcome of the game. The Lions led a commanding 51-87 going into the final stanza, and the Capital had no answer for them in this period, as the visitors led Capital City Academy 105-64 winners.
