LeBron James and the Lakers survived Luka Doncic and the Mavericks

LeBron James made one free throw, with two seconds to go, and the LA Lakers edged the Dallas Mavericks at home (114-113).

Luka Doncic had tied the game, with eight seconds remaining (113-113), but the “King” made one free throw and gave his team the victory, as JJ Barea missed the three-pointer at the buzzer.

James had a game-high 29 points, along with five rebounds and six assists, as four more players scored in double figures for the winners.

On the other hand, Wesley Matthews posted a team-high 21 points, with Barea adding a double-double (15 points, 10 assists). Doncic contributed 14 points, five boards and seven assists for the losing squad.

The Lakers made an excellent start to the game and took a 17-point lead (38-21). The Mavs came back, though, and cut the deficit to 10 at halftime (66-59).

The hosts managed to bring their lead back to double digits at the end of the third quarter (94-81). Yet, the visitors turned things around again, outscored their opponents 32-20 and came very close to the win.

But, Barea missed the three-pointer and, consequently, Dallas suffered their sixth loss in eight games (2-6).

For LA, this was their third win in eight games (3-5).
