New double hit by the Greek champions who have now announced the signing of the dynamic Greek duo of Kostas Kaimakoglou and Ian Vouyoukas.

Both players come from excellent seasons with their Athens-based teams of Maroussi (Kaimakoglou) and Panellinios (Vouyoukas). As TalkBasket reported some days ago, the announcement was only a formality and a matter of days.

Kostas Kaimakoglou stated: “I had wanted to make this jump for years and the moment came for me. I am delighted and full of enthusiasm to be a Panathinaikos player. I will do the outmost not to disappoint the people of Panathinaikos who trusted me. I had assumed a bigger role in Maroussi the last couple of years, something which has prepared me for this move. I realise that everything will be different in Panathinaikos and it will be a new start for me. One of the reasons I am now here are the titles and I will do everything to help the team win them next season. It is the greatest motive for me.”

Ian Vouyoukas stated: “I am delighted to be here and can’t wait for the training camp to begin so I can meet my new teammates and the coaching staff. After a season with great playing time and experiences I feel ready to help Panathinaikos. I know that expectations are higher here but I will do everything to help the team reach its goals. We all know the goal is the triple crown, every single season.”

Both players, who are also members of the Greece National Team signed 2-year deals.
