Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is this season’s NBA Most Improved Player.

The Greek international pips French international Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz and Serbian Nikola Jokic from the Denver Nuggets.

Antetokounmpo becomes the fifth player from Europe to win the award, averaging 22.9 ppg, 8.8 rpg and 5.4 apg.

The jump in his stats is quite impressive since during the 2015-16 season he averaged 16.9 ppg, 7.7 rpg and 4.3 apg.

The 24-year-old has led the Bucks to the Playoffs through his play, leading the team in virtually every statistic.

Antetokounmpo was named the Most Improved Player during a star studded inaugural NBA Awards ceremony, held two weeks after the season concluded.

Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook won the MVP award, edging Houston Rockets James Harden and San Antonio Spurs Kawhi Leonard to the honour.
