These days when NBA trade deadline is coming there are a lot of speculations around the New York Knicks’ player Carmelo Anthony and the near future of his career.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski and Chris Mannix of The Vertical, Anthony spends the last days as the Knicks member. The New York Knicks General Manager Phil Jackson is reportedly determined to trade Carmelo Anthony. But a player still has the final decision with the no-trade reservation that gives him the ability to wave aside any trade possibility. But a couple days earlier Carmelo Anthony speaking with journalists said that he would “consider” waiving his no-trade clause if the Knicks tell him they want him out. His next stop probably will be the Los Angeles Clippers.

Anthony has several reasons to decide to resume his career in Los Angeles. Speaking about his future plans Carmelo Anthony several times designated that he would only make any step forward if it is right for his family, according to Frank Isola of New York Daily News. Los Angeles is known as the “entertainment capital of the world” so it is a perfect place for Carmelo Anthony wife La La Anthony who is a famous radio and television personality.

Another reason – Carmelo is a good friend with the Clippers playmaker Chris Paul. Anthony also has a house in Los Angeles. As the Los Angeles Times reports, the Los Angeles Clippers will not release any member of their Big 3: Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, Chris Paul. According to New York Daily News, Phil Jackson and the Knicks agree to trade Carmelo Anthony to the Clippers “even if they don’t get one of the Clippers’ Big 3 in return”. And that means if the Knicks and the Clippers deal happens, the Los Angeles Clippers will have the Big 4 like it is currently in the Golden State Warriors.

These trade give for the Clippers another prolific scoring and shooting small forward, who has been named an All-Star nine times. The addition of Anthony would require that the Clippers rework its offence for such kind of player. Playing for the Clippers Anthony would surrender his indulgence with the ball and improve his defensive skills. In Los Angeles Carmelo Anthony will probably replace Luc Richard Mbah a Moute in the starting line-up. With his shooting abilities Anthony would attract extra attention of opponents and that would give more freedom to Blake Griffin and Chris Paul offensively. If another Los Angeles sharpshooter J.J. Redick does not participate in this trade, together with Carmelo Anthony they could form one of best sniper duo in the league that would terrorize any opposing three-point line.

Along with Carmelo on its roster the Clippers can form small but at the same time very mobile lineup – when Griffin may play the center and Anthony the power forward positions – such scheme from time to time is used by the Cleveland Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue.

To sum up, the acquisition of Carmelo Anthony for the Los Angeles Clippers is necessary more or less for one reason – to beat the Golden State Warriors in the NBA playoffs, because other teams don’t entail any problems if the current Clippers roster is healthy.
