Following the injury of Travis Watson, who will be out of action for three weeks, Zalgiris started looking for a replacement. Even though The Greens were in need of a big man for a couple of months the real search for a new player has begun just recently. Lrytas.lt got a confirmation from Zalgiris Sports Director Algirdas Brazys who said that Jeremiah Massey is on the list of the players that the club is looking at.
Massey who is currently contracted to Real Madrid is left out of Ettore Messina's plans and it's just a matter of time before he released or traded to another team. There were reports recently linking Massey to his former club Aris and also to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Zalgiris is having troubles with their big men from the start of the season as both centers Mirza Begic and Povilas Cukinas have been performing poorly. Cukinas is out with an injury for the whole season while Begic became a bench player and still fails to impress.
Next week Zalgiris travels to Istanbul to face Fenerbahce Ulker in the final game of the regular season in Euroleague. Lithuanian club needs to win at any cost in order to have chances of going through.
