Miami Heat forward Nikola Jovic has shared his initial reaction to the trade that brought Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami, admitting that he experienced mixed emotions after learning several of his teammates were leaving.
Jovic explained that his first thoughts were about losing close friends, including Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’el Ware, and Kasparas Jakucionis.
However, the disappointment was quickly followed by excitement over the opportunity to play alongside the former NBA MVP.
“I was so used to seeing guys like Tyler and Jaime who were my really good friends. – My first thoughts for sure was ‘F*ck. We lost Tyler, Kel’el, Jamie and Kas.’
“Then my second thought was ‘F*ck, we got Giannis.’ You’re just excited you get a chance to play with him.”
