Dennis Rodman is expected to join President Donald Trump on a campaign trip to Oklahoma later this week, according to the New York Post.
The former NBA star is reportedly scheduled to attend an event in Durant, Oklahoma, where he attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
The appearance comes as Trump has discussed another possible meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
“After the midterms, Trump wants to refocus again on North Korea and start talking about Kim Jong Un,” one source close to Rodman and familiar with White House travel plans told The Post.
“Dennis believes he’s the ambassador of goodwill between North Korea and the United States. As Trump ponders what to do next, he’s been soliciting ideas and one of those key people he’s talking to is Dennis.”
Neither the White House nor Rodman’s representatives commented on the report, and the travel plans could still change.
Rodman visited North Korea at least five times between 2013 and 2017 and developed a relationship with Kim, whom he has called a “friend for life.”
He also has a longstanding connection with Trump after appearing on “The Celebrity Apprentice” in 2009.
Trump recently addressed the possibility of meeting Kim again later this year, telling reporters, “I will be.”
Trump and Kim met three times during Trump’s first presidential term, including summits in Singapore and Vietnam and a meeting at the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea.
