The Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly evaluating whether to pursue restricted free agent Peyton Watson as they continue shaping their offseason plans.

According to Marc Stein and Jake Fischer, Los Angeles remains interested in Watson while also working to create additional salary cap flexibility.

The team recently pushed back its deadline to exercise Bogdan Bogdanovic’s team option until June 29, allowing more time to explore trades that could open up cap space.

Denver, however, remains confident it will retain the 23-year-old forward.

League sources indicate the Nuggets intend to match almost any offer, with rival teams believing it would take a contract worth roughly $30 million annually to make Denver reconsider.

The Lakers and Bulls have also been linked as potential suitors for Watson, setting up what could become one of the more closely watched restricted free agency situations of the offseason.
