After the Boston Celtics blew a 3-1 lead against the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the 2026 playoffs, the tension towards Jaylen Brown got high.
Brown was live on Twitch streaming with thousands of fans watching, as the decision sparked controversy, with several talking heads in the media calling it a bad look for the 29-year-old superstar.
Meanwhile, the heat has not yet finished as the Celtics star threw shades at ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, saying that he will stop streaming if Smith quits his job.
In response, Smith’s coworker and former Celtics Kendirck Perkins told viewers of “First Take” that numerous players from Boston individually texted him regarding Brown’s Twitch antics.
“I get another text that said, ‘Hey, JB trippin.’ Another text from a former Celtics player that said, ‘JB, lack of accountability,'” Perkins said live on air. “JB guess what? It’s a lot of people in the organization, a lot of former players, legends, that don’t agree with you, bro! They don’t like the way that this looks.”
While Perkins also mentioned the relationship between Brown and his co-superstar Jayson Tatum, was on the line.
“This instance, I can’t rock with you JB,” Perkins continued. “Guess what? There’s a lot of former Celtic players that’s not rocking with you either.”
