The Dallas Mavericks were reportedly interested in bringing in Tim Connelly to lead their front office, but that possibility appears unlikely due to his current situation with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Since Connelly is still under contract, Minnesota would have to approve any interview request, and given the team’s recent success, they are not expected to allow that to happen.

During Connelly’s four years in charge, the Timberwolves have been one of the more consistent teams in the league, winning close to 60 percent of their regular season games.

They’ve also made back-to-back Western Conference Finals appearances and recently pulled off a notable first-round playoff upset over the Denver Nuggets.

Before joining Minnesota, Connelly spent nearly a decade as general manager of the Nuggets, where he played a key role in building the roster that eventually won the NBA championship in 2023, even though he had already departed by that time.
