Hall of Famer Magic Johnson recently met with Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo and other local officials.

According to Mick Akers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, they discussed a potential arena-resort project on the Las Vegas Strip.

The meeting also included conversations about Johnson potentially becoming involved with a future NBA expansion team in the city.

The NBA is widely expected to begin seriously evaluating expansion in the near future, with Las Vegas and Seattle commonly viewed as the leading candidates to receive new franchises.

Johnson’s visit and meetings with state and local leaders suggest he may be exploring ways to play a role if a team is eventually awarded to Las Vegas.

“Las Vegas is my favorite home away from home, and I can’t think of a better place to expand my MJE (Magic Johnson Enterprises),” Johnson said in a statement.
