Despite recently falling out of the rotation, Keon Ellis of the Sacramento Kings continues to draw strong attention around the league.

After sitting out two games last weekend with a minor knee issue, Ellis has since missed two additional games this week as a coach’s decision, but that absence has not cooled interest in him on the trade market.

According to league and team sources cited by Sam Amick of The Athletic, roughly 10 teams are currently monitoring Ellis, with an expectation that a deal could be finalized on or before the February 5 trade deadline.

The Sacramento Kings are reportedly holding firm in their asking price, seeking a late first-round pick in return for the fourth-year guard.

While Sacramento has multiple players who could be involved in trade discussions, Ellis has emerged as the most popular target so far, Sam Vecenie of The Athletic said Thursday.

Vecenie noted that Ellis’ offensive game is somewhat limited and that he lacks the size to consistently defend larger wings and forwards.

However, his high-energy perimeter defense and reliable outside shooting have made him an appealing option for teams looking to strengthen their backcourt depth.
