The New York Knicks ended a difficult stretch and cooled off the red-hot Portland Trail Blazers with a 123-114 victory on Sunday night at Moda Center.
New York, which had dropped five of its previous six games, improved to 25-14 by executing late on both ends and controlling key moments after Portland erased a double-digit deficit.
Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 26 points, setting the tempo offensively and sealing the game with a late three-pointer that pushed the lead back to double figures.
OG Anunoby added 24 points on efficient shooting, while Karl-Anthony Towns posted 20 points and 11 rebounds to anchor the interior on both ends.
Mikal Bridges filled the box score with 18 points, six assists, and six rebounds, helping New York generate 32 assists and maintain offensive balance throughout the night.
The Knicks also welcomed back Josh Hart, who returned to the starting lineup after missing time since Christmas Day with an ankle injury and finished with 18 points in 31 minutes.
Portland entered the game riding a five-game winning streak and looked poised to extend it after rallying in the fourth quarter behind Deni Avdija.
Avdija scored a team-high 25 points, but his night ended with concern after he grabbed his back while contesting a rebound in the closing moments and headed to the locker room.
The Trail Blazers tied the game at 92 early in the fourth quarter on a Robert Williams III dunk, then briefly took the lead following Avdija’s floater and free throw.
Momentum shifted with 3:47 remaining when Miles McBride drilled a pull-up three to put New York ahead 109-104, a sequence that steadied the visitors.
Brunson followed with a deep three-pointer with 2:23 left to make it 117-107, and Portland was unable to close the gap.
The Blazers shot just 31 percent from three-point range and committed 15 turnovers, limiting their ability to capitalize during key stretches.
Portland also saw the return of Jrue Holiday, who played for the first time since mid-November due to a calf injury and logged eight points in 16 minutes.
New York shot 51 percent from the field and knocked down 17 three-pointers, creating consistent spacing that challenged Portland’s defense.
Up next, the Knicks continue their road trip at Sacramento on Wednesday night, while the Trail Blazers head to Golden State on Tuesday seeking a rebound.
