Joel Embiid powered a comprehensive team effort as the Philadelphia 76ers routed the Washington Wizards 131-110 on Wednesday night at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

Philadelphia improved to 20-15 and won for the fourth time in five games, asserting control early and never allowing the contest to drift into doubt.

Embiid scored 28 points on 10-of-14 shooting and added seven rebounds, continuing to build rhythm in his fifth straight appearance after early-season injury issues.

Paul George followed with 23 points, while Tyrese Maxey contributed 22 points and eight assists as all five starters reached double figures.

The 76ers set the tone in the opening quarter behind Embiid’s interior dominance, with the reigning MVP scoring 16 points to establish a physical edge.

Philadelphia carried that momentum into the second half and led 92-80 entering the fourth quarter after consistently winning the efficiency battle.

Any hopes of a Washington comeback vanished quickly, as the home side opened the final period on an 11-0 run capped by a Quentin Grimes dunk.

That burst stretched the lead to 23 points and forced the Wizards into extended rotation minutes as the game slipped away.

Grimes finished with 16 points off the bench, while the 76ers shot 54 percent from the field and 38 percent from three-point range.

Philadelphia also lived at the free-throw line, converting 27 of 32 attempts while limiting mistakes to just 10 turnovers.

Kelly Oubre Jr. returned from a left knee injury and logged his first appearance since November 14, scoring two points in limited minutes.

Trendon Watford also made his return from a left abductor sprain, giving the 76ers their full roster for the first time this season.

Washington, now 10-26, played short-handed on the second night of a back-to-back and struggled to keep pace defensively.

Tre Johnson led the Wizards with 20 points, while Bub Carrington and Bilal Coulibaly each added 18.

Alex Sarr chipped in 15 points and seven rebounds, but Washington allowed 45 made field goals and could not contain dribble penetration.

The loss came hours before reports emerged of a significant trade involving Washington and Atlanta, with Trae Young reportedly headed to the Wizards in a deal pending league approval.

Philadelphia used the performance to rebound from Monday’s overtime loss to Denver and maintain its place in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

The 76ers will travel to face the Orlando Magic on Friday, while Washington returns home to host New Orleans.
