EA7 Emporio Armani Milan overcame a six-player shortage to claim a 74-87 road win over Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens on Tuesday, January 6, at Telekom Center Athens.
The Greens led for much of the first half, but Milan stayed within striking distance, relying on clutch shooting and late-game execution to seize control.
Armoni Brooks led the visitors with 24 points and five three-pointers, while Josh Nebo added 16 points and seven rebounds, delivering a career-best showing that kept Milan competitive despite missing key rotation players.
Former Panathinaikos guard Lorenzo Brown contributed 17 points and five assists, including 11 points after halftime, helping Milan pull away in the fourth quarter and silence a stunned home crowd.
With Shavon Shields, Quinn Ellis, Leandro Bolmaro, Nate Sestina, Ousmane Diop, and Stefano Tonut unavailable, Peppe Poeta’s team relied on a deep rotation, with Diego Flaccadori, Nico Mannion, and Pippo Ricci stepping up when called upon.
Juancho Hernangomez led the Greens with 17 points and seven rebounds. Richaun Holmes contributed 14 points and six boards, while Kostas Sloukas recorded a double-double of 13 points and 10 assists. Reigning MVP Kendrick Nunn was limited to just ten points.
Milan’s fourth-quarter surge was fueled by defensive stops and timely three-point shooting, turning a closely contested game into a comfortable road victory. Panathinaikos was unable to recover, marking consecutive home losses for the first time under coach Ergin Ataman.
The win improves Milan to 10-10, moving the team closer to the top 10 in the EuroLeague standings and setting up a home clash against Anadolu Efes Istanbul on Friday. Panathinaikos falls to 12-8 and will host Virtus Bologna later this week.
