
The Cleveland Cavaliers ended their three-game skid after beating the Charlotte Hornets 139-132 on Monday night.
Donovan Mitchell led the Cavaliers with 30 points, De’Andre Hunter and Darius Garland added 27 points each, which pulled away in the second half to snap a three-game losing streak.
Cleveland had lost three straight at home and is 2-5 at Rocket Arena since Nov. 30.
On the other hand, LaMelo Ball led Charlotte with 23 points and nine assists, making six three-pointers, while Rookie Kon Knueppel and Brandon Miller each had 20 points.
Hornets big man Moussa Diabate grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds.
Hunter gave the Cavaliers momentum early in the third quarter, remaining on the court after being bloodied by a flagrant foul to his face by Daibate.
The Cavs’ big man made both free throws, followed by a three-pointer on the subsequent possession to push their lead to 98-85.
Dean Wade contributed 14 points and seven rebounds, while Lonzo Ball had six points and seven assists, which took its largest advantage at 131-112.
Mitchell ended the first half by banking in a 28-footer at the horn, giving him 18 points and the Cavaliers a 706-3 advantage.
The clash had 12 lead changes and 10 ties before the intermission, but neither team went up by double digits.
However, Hornets center Mason Plumlee exited with right groin soreness in the third and did not return.
Charlotte aims to bounce back against the Washington Wizards, while the Cavaliers look forward to winning momentum when they face the Pelicans on Tuesday.
