Andrew Wiggins threw down an alley-oop dunk at the overtime buzzer to give the Miami Heat a 140-138 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers Monday night at the Kaseya Center.

Donovan Mitchell had tied the game with a 3-pointer with 0.4 seconds left in OT before Wiggins secured the win.

Norman Powell led Miami with 33 points, while Jaime Jaquez Jr. added 22 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists off the bench. Kel’el Ware contributed 14 points and 20 rebounds, and Wiggins finished with 23 points in the high-scoring affair.

For Cleveland, Mitchell recorded 28 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists. De’Andre Hunter added 23 points, and Evan Mobley chipped in a 21-point, 10-rebound double-double. Darius Garland exited in the third quarter due to a recurring toe injury, complicating the Cavaliers’ late-game execution.

The Heat rallied despite missing Bam Adebayo (toe) and Tyler Herro (heel) and improved to 5-0 at home for only the third time in franchise history. Miami previously accomplished the feat in 2012-13 and 2019-20, both seasons ending in NBA Finals appearances.

Cleveland attempted 120 shots, including 65 from 3-point range, making 21 treys. The team extended its NBA-record streak to 98 consecutive regular-season games with at least 10 made 3-pointers. Despite the volume, the Cavs fell short in overtime after Mitchell’s heroics were answered by Wiggins’ alley-oop.

Monday marked the first meeting since last season’s first-round sweep, when Cleveland defeated Miami 138-83 in Game 4, finishing a historically lopsided series. The two teams will face off again in Miami on Wednesday.

Miami (7-4) remains perfect at home this season, while Cleveland drops to 7-4 with a tough loss on the road.
