Jaylin Galloway has made it clear that his next goal is returning to the NBA after a standout performance at the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup.
The 22-year-old forward earned tournament MVP honors while leading Australia, marking a major step in his comeback from a shoulder injury that sidelined him for more than a year.
Speaking with ESPNâs Olgun Uluc, Galloway said, âIâm hoping the next step is getting back to the NBA. It was a tough little rough patch for me, but itâs been good to come back and get my mind right.â
Galloway has already experienced the league once, signing a two-way deal with the Milwaukee Bucks in March 2024. While he only appeared in the G League with the Wisconsin Herd before being waived that August, the opportunity proved he could reach the highest level.
He returned to the Sydney Kings later that year but was ruled out indefinitely with a shoulder injury that eventually required surgery. The setback kept him sidelined for the remainder of the season.
In 2025, Galloway joined the Bankstown Bruins in the NBL1 East to regain rhythm and rebuild confidence. His Asia Cup performance showed he has regained both his explosiveness and consistency.
Uluc noted that calling Galloway a ârevelationâ would be underselling his progress, pointing to his role in back-to-back NBL championships with the Kings and his steady development in Australiaâs professional ranks.
Now healthy and playing some of the best basketball of his career, Galloway has drawn attention as one of Australiaâs top rising prospects. He credited former national team coach Brian Goorjian with helping him through the recovery process, saying their offseason work has been critical in preparing him for this return.
Across his NBL career, Galloway has displayed efficiency as a scorer and strong defensive instincts. In the 2023â24 season, he averaged 10.3 points per game for Sydney while shooting 53.8 percent from the field.
