Antonis Karagiannidis’ journey with the Greek national basketball team has officially concluded, as head coach Vassilis Spanoulis made the decision not to keep him on the roster moving forward.
The Hellenic Basketball Federation confirmed that today’s training session was Karagiannidis’ last with the squad, signaling the end of his preparation period with the team.

Following that, they will play a high-profile friendly against France on August 24. All three contests are scheduled at the OAKA Olympic Indoor Hall, with tip-off set for 20:00 each night.
The 16 players who remain with the national team are: Kostas Papanikolaou, Kostas Sloukas, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Giannoulis Larentzakis, Dinos Mitoglou, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Kostas Antetokounmpo, Vasilis Toliopoulos, Tyler Dorsey, Panagiotis Kalaitzakis, Dimitris Katsivelis, Nikos Hougaz, Vaggelis Zougris, Alexandros Samontourov, Omiros Netzipoglou, and Nasos Bazinas.
This group will continue training under Spanoulis’ guidance, with competition heating up for the coveted spots on the final roster that will take the court at EuroBasket 2025.
