Trade talks surrounding Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu have gained momentum, with league insiders pointing to his potential departure ahead of the 2025 offseason.

NBC Sports Chicago’s K.C. Johnson reported increased chatter involving Dosunmu in recent days, noting that discussions around his future have grown louder than those concerning fellow guard Coby White.

Both Dosunmu and White are set to hit unrestricted free agency next summer, putting pressure on the Bulls’ front office to make a decision between the two guards.

On the Chicago Lead podcast earlier this month, Johnson said the team is expected to explore trade options due to looming salary cap constraints.

“From my seat they’ve got to try to look to trade either Ayo Dosunmu or Coby White,” Johnson said, emphasizing the financial challenge of re-signing both players.

Dosunmu, 25, is entering the final year of a three-year, $21 million deal. He averaged 12.3 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.5 rebounds in 46 appearances this season while shooting 48.9% from the field.

White, also 25, started 74 games and posted 20.4 points and 4.5 assists per game in 2024–25. He’s on the final year of a $36 million contract.

Both players contributed significantly during Chicago’s late-season push to reach the play-in tournament. However, the Bulls were eliminated by the Miami Heat and failed to secure a playoff berth for the third consecutive year.

Chicago finished 39–43, placing 9th in the Eastern Conference and ranking near the bottom in defensive efficiency.
