According to Stefan Bondy of The New York Post, the Knicks are actively exploring their options in the coaching search by interviewing Taylor Jenkins and Mike Brown.
At the same time, they are monitoring Jason Kidd’s situation with the Dallas Mavericks closely.
Bondy notes that Kidd’s future with Dallas could become uncertain if the Mavericks decide not to offer him a contract extension, which means the Knicks still hold out some hope of possibly bringing him on board.
Meanwhile, a source informed Bondy that the Knicks have not yet sought permission to speak with Johnnie Bryant, an assistant coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Bryant, who initially seemed like a top candidate for the Knicks’ head coaching vacancy, now appears to have fallen out of favor as a priority for the team.
