As the New York Knicks prepare to head into a pivotal Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, they’re finding a measure of confidence in a familiar source – their success away from home.
According to Jared Schwartz of The New York Post, New York is leaning on its impressive road performance as the series shifts to Indiana.
The Knicks have been resilient travelers throughout the postseason, posting a 5-1 record on the road, including three victories in Detroit and two in the hostile environment of Boston.
Their strong play away from Madison Square Garden wasn’t limited to the playoffs either, they compiled a solid 24-17 record on the road during the regular season.
Veteran wing Josh Hart emphasized that this road-tested identity is something the team embraces. After a disappointing loss in Game 2, he pointed to the Knicks’ ability to thrive in challenging arenas as a reason for optimism.
“The whole year we played well on the road,” Hart said. “We’ve played well on the road in the playoffs. That’s a tough place to play. Their crowd comes and shows love and support. But we’re a good road team. That always gives us confidence.”
With the series now moving to Gainbridge Fieldhouse, where Indiana’s fans are known for their passion and energy, the Knicks will need that confidence more than ever.
Facing a 0-2 deficit, they’re banking on their ability to silence crowds and respond under pressure -a skill they’ve already proven they possess this postseason.
