NBC Sports has officially announced that NBA legend Vince Carter will be joining the network this fall as a studio analyst, contributing to NBA coverage on both NBC and its streaming platform, Peacock.
This move marks another step in NBC’s preparations for the highly anticipated return of NBA broadcasts to its airwaves starting with the 2025–26 season.
Carter’s illustrious NBA career spanned an unprecedented 22 seasons, the most in league history.
During that time, he earned eight All-Star selections, captured the Rookie of the Year award, won the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest with a performance that became iconic, and was enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2024.
Since hanging up his jersey in 2020, Carter has transitioned into broadcasting, previously providing insightful analysis for ESPN and Turner Sports.
According to the network, Carter is set to appear regularly on NBC’s studio programming, likely participating in one or more nights of coverage each week.
He is expected to team up frequently with fellow Hall-of-Famer Carmelo Anthony, who was also recently brought on board as a studio analyst.
In a statement, Carter expressed enthusiasm about his new role: “I could not be more excited and appreciative to have the opportunity to be a part of the historic return of the NBA to NBC and now Peacock. I am truly looking forward to joining Melo in the studio and the rest of the broadcast team overall, as we embark on bringing NBA fans best-in-class coverage of the league they love.”
As NBC Sports continues assembling its broadcast team ahead of the league’s return, the network has already made several high-profile hires.
Alongside Carter and Anthony in the studio, NBC has announced that veteran sportscasters Mike Tirico and Noah Eagle will serve as lead play-by-play announcers.
On the game analysis side, former NBA stars Jamal Crawford and Reggie Miller will lend their voices, while basketball icon Michael Jordan has been tapped to serve as a special contributor, further elevating the network’s star-powered lineup.
