Coby White pointed to the Miami Heat’s postseason pedigree as a key factor in Friday night’s decisive play-in loss, according to Andrew Seligman of The Associated Press.
White, who has been a consistent scoring threat for the Bulls in recent weeks, struggled to find his rhythm in this critical matchup.
Despite his recent hot streak, he managed just 17 points on a rough 5-of-20 shooting night, emblematic of Chicago’s overall offensive struggles.
In reflecting on the loss, White acknowledged that the Heat’s experience in high-pressure situations gave them a clear edge.
“We didn’t really have game-plan discipline,” he admitted.
“We beat them in the regular season. We thought if we just do what we normally do, then we’ll be good. But obviously, they’ve got guys that have been to the finals. They’ve got guys that know what it takes. They got a head coach who’s one of the best head coaches in the league. They came in and they were the better team tonight.”
White’s candid assessment underscores the challenge of facing a seasoned team like Miami, whose core players and coaching staff have consistently delivered under playoff-level pressure.
While the Bulls showed flashes of potential during the regular season, their inability to adapt in the postseason spotlight proved costly – something White and the rest of the young roster will need to learn from moving forward.
