The Oklahoma City Thunder may not be able to match the legendary 73-win record set by the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors, but they are cementing their place in NBA history with one of the most dominant regular seasons ever, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

As Slater highlights, the Thunder’s staggering +13.4-point differential per game would set a new NBA record if maintained.

They are also on the verge of breaking the all-time single-season net rating record, currently sitting at +13.2, just shy of the +13.4 mark set by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls.

Additionally, Oklahoma City has shattered records with a historic 29-1 record against Eastern Conference teams and has tied the league’s all-time mark for most double-digit victories in a season (50).

Despite securing the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference weeks ago and beginning to rest key players, the Thunder continue their relentless dominance.

They haven’t lost a game since March 10, and with six contests remaining, a 70-win season is still within reach. However, as Slater reports, the team remains unfazed by these accolades, keeping their focus solely on winning an NBA championship.

“We don’t care not one bit about any of those records,” star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander said. “They mean something, but in the grand scheme, they don’t. We’re after one thing and one thing only. That’s what’s on our mind. Everything else we don’t care about.”

Teammate Jalen Williams echoed that sentiment, adding, “It’s cool. That stat stuff is more for y’all than it is for us. That’s my only answer. Sorry.”
