The Chicago Bulls secured a 111-97 victory over the Utah Jazz on Monday night, extending Utah’s losing streak to 10 games.
Coby White led the way with 26 points on 9-for-19 shooting, despite struggling from beyond the arc with a 2-for-10 performance. He compensated at the free-throw line, making six of seven attempts.
Tre Jones contributed 18 points, 12 assists, and three steals in one of his best games since joining Chicago in February. Kevin Huerter and rookie Matas Buzelis each added 17 points, while Dalen Terry scored 11.
Keyonte George and Lauri Markkanen led the Jazz with 16 points apiece. Jordan Clarkson finished with 14 points, and Brice Sensabaugh added 13 off the bench.
Chicago jumped out to an early lead, using a 10-0 run to go up by 13 in the first quarter. White scored 14 in the opening frame, helping the Bulls take a 54-53 edge into halftime.
Buzelis hit a crucial three-pointer with 8:11 left in the third quarter to put Chicago ahead for good. The Bulls stretched their lead in the fourth behind a 12-0 run sparked by a Jones layup, with Nikola Vucevic capping it off with a three-pointer to make it 109-93.
Jones shot 8-for-10 from the field in 33 minutes, providing a significant boost at point guard. Vucevic added 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Buzelis and Huerter each grabbed nine boards.
Utah struggled from three-point range, shooting just 9-for-42 (21.4%). Markkanen made only one of his eight attempts from deep.
The Bulls (29-39) have now won five of their last six games as they fight to keep their Play-In hopes alive. The Jazz (15-54) have not won since Feb. 28.
