Giannis Antetokounmpo is optimistic about the Milwaukee Bucks’ recent trade deadline acquisitions but has yet to share the court with his new teammates due to a strained left calf.

The injury sidelined him for the final six games before the All-Star break, and his status remains uncertain for Thursday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers.

While Antetokounmpo was able to participate in practice, both he and head coach Doc Rivers remain uncertain about his availability for the game, reports Steve Megargee of The Associated Press.

Despite being forced to watch from the sidelines, Antetokounmpo has been impressed by the Bucks’ newest additions – Kyle Kuzma, Jericho Sims, and Kevin Porter Jr. – whom the team acquired in two separate trades earlier this month.

“The team looks great right now,” Antetokounmpo said. “We’re playing very, very fast. Everybody’s competing. Defensively I think we’re going to be way, way better. We’re big. And I’m excited.”
