OG Anunoby was forced to exit the New York Knicks’ 128-112 defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers in the third quarter after suffering a right foot sprain.
Following the game, Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau confirmed that X-rays on Anunoby’s foot came back negative, easing some immediate concern.
However, Thibodeau noted he was uncertain if the team would proceed with an MRI for further evaluation.
Anunoby’s presence on the court has had a noticeable impact on the team’s performance this season.
The Knicks boast an impressive 52-19 record when he plays, but they have struggled without him, holding a 30-29 mark in games he’s missed.
Anunoby has played 8 seasons for the Raptors and Knicks. He has averaged 12.4 points and 4.3 rebounds in 467 regular-season games.
