Paul George and Tyrese Maxey led the Philadelphia 76ers to a 132-129 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night, combining for 59 points. Philadelphia snapped a seven-game losing streak with the win.

George contributed 30 points, shooting 11-for-21 from the field and connecting on six three-pointers. Maxey added 29 points, hitting four three-pointers and sinking all seven of his free throws. Kelly Oubre Jr. supported the scoring effort with 22 points and a team-high 13 rebounds.

The short-handed 76ers, playing without Joel Embiid for the 10th consecutive game due to a knee injury, improved their record to 16-27. The Cavaliers dropped their second straight game, falling into a tie with the Oklahoma City Thunder for the league’s best record at 36-8.

Donovan Mitchell paced Cleveland with 37 points, while Ty Jerome had a career-high 33 points, shooting a perfect 8-for-8 from beyond the arc. Jerome’s three-pointer with 6:17 left gave the Cavaliers a 116-110 lead, but the 76ers responded with a decisive 13-0 run.

Eric Gordon played a pivotal role during the run, hitting two clutch three-pointers. His go-ahead shot at the 3:19 mark put Philadelphia ahead 117-116, a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Despite Jerome’s outstanding shooting night, Cleveland struggled defensively, allowing Philadelphia to shoot 50.6% from the field and 53.8% from three-point range. The teams combined for an astounding 46 three-pointers, highlighting the night’s perimeter shooting dominance.

Darius Garland added 26 points for the Cavaliers, while Oubre’s relentless rebounding helped Philadelphia maintain control late in the fourth quarter. The Cavaliers had an opportunity to tie the game in the final moments, but Jerome’s turnover on an inbounds pass sealed their fate.
