As the summer approaches, Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey is preparing for a pivotal moment in his career. The 22-year-old is set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the season, and the decision regarding his future with the Bulls is looming.

Despite the uncertainty, Giddey remains focused on the present and has expressed satisfaction with his current situation. “I’m very happy here,” Giddey told Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times. “I love the players, the coaches, everyone has been great here.”

While the young guard admitted he occasionally thinks about his future, he understands that it’s a part of the business. “Every player in the country thinks about it, but you can’t let it impact the way you play,” he added. “The contract will be taken care of at the end of the year, whatever it is, how long it is, where it is? It’s kind of out of my hands by then, so just play the season and do my best.”

Giddey’s performance this season has solidified his role in the Bulls’ rotation. He is averaging 11.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 6.7 assists in 28.3 minutes per game.

The Australian guard was acquired by the Bulls last summer in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder. In his first season with Chicago, Giddey has shown growth in his game, continuing to develop as both a playmaker and a scorer.
