The New York Knicks edged out the Brooklyn Nets 99-95 on Tuesday night, thanks to a dominant performance from Karl-Anthony Towns. Towns posted 25 points and 16 rebounds, leading New York to their second consecutive victory.

Jalen Brunson stepped up late in the game, scoring eight of his 17 points in the final minutes. His clutch baskets, including a step-back jumper and two free throws, sealed the win for the Knicks. New York improved to 29-16 on the season, maintaining their position as a top-six team in the Eastern Conference.

Brooklyn, now 14-30, put up a strong fight despite missing key players. D’Angelo Russell recorded a double-double with 23 points and 10 assists, while Cam Johnson added 16 points. The Nets have now lost four straight games and nine of their last 10, struggling to find consistency amid injuries and lineup adjustments.

The Knicks built a double-digit lead in the third quarter but saw it evaporate as Brooklyn mounted a rally. Keon Johnson’s three-pointer gave the Nets an 88-87 lead with just over five minutes remaining. However, Brunson’s late-game heroics helped New York reclaim control.

Towns played a pivotal role on both ends of the floor, contributing five offensive rebounds and showcasing his ability to dominate inside. OG Anunoby added 20 points, while Precious Achiuwa chipped in 11 off the bench.

Defensively, the Knicks excelled by holding Brooklyn to 37.2% shooting from the field.

Brooklyn had a chance to take the lead with under 20 seconds left, but Cam Johnson’s 26-foot three-pointer missed the mark. Brunson then sank two free throws to extend the lead to four, putting the game out of reach.

Mikal Bridges scored 10 points in his first game back in Brooklyn since being traded last summer. Despite his struggles shooting from the field, Bridges contributed on defense and helped maintain New York’s balanced attack.
