Jimmy Butler, fresh off a seven-game suspension, addressed recent rumors surrounding his strained relationship with the Miami Heat after his first game back. The star forward, who has made a trade request, spoke candidly about the situation and his perspective on the ongoing drama.

“There was a lot said by everybody, except for me, to tell you the truth,” Butler said, via Michael Scotto, reflecting on the media coverage. “So, we’ll let people keep talking like they know everything and have all the answers. And then, sooner or later, the whole truth will come out.” His words came after a tough loss to the Denver Nuggets, signaling that Butler is staying focused on the bigger picture despite external distractions.

Reports have circulated that Butler stayed away from the Heat during road trips, missed shootarounds, and sought private flights. However, Butler dismissed these reports, opting to let the narrative unfold on its own. “If I’m here, I will get out there and play,” he added postgame, signaling his intent to remain professional despite the off-court distractions.

The Heat were unable to capitalize on Butler’s return, falling 133-113 to the Nuggets on Friday night. Butler, who scored 18 points in his first game back, could not prevent the Heat from suffering their third consecutive home loss. His performance included 7-of-15 shooting, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a dominant display from the Nuggets.

Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic led the way for Denver in their comprehensive victory. Murray finished with 30 points, while Jokic notched his 17th triple-double of the season, recording 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Tyler Herro led Miami with 22 points, and Bam Adebayo contributed 16 points and 11 rebounds, but the Heat struggled with their three-point shooting. Miami made just 9-of-33 from beyond the arc, a 27.3% success rate, which allowed Denver’s defense to assert control.
