Victor Wembanyama capped off a remarkable month with 27 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and three blocks, leading the San Antonio Spurs to a commanding 122-86 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. The Spurs improved to 17-16, while the Clippers dropped to 19-14 after a three-game winning streak.
Wembanyama’s historic performance made him the first player in NBA history to record 300 points, 100 rebounds, 50 blocks, 50 assists, and 40 three-pointers in a single month. He also extended his streak of games with at least one block and one three-pointer to 24, setting a league record.
San Antonio built a 25-point lead in the second quarter, swelling to 34 in the fourth, which allowed Wembanyama to rest for the final 8:39 of the game. Keldon Johnson contributed 17 points, while rookie Stephon Castle added 15 off the bench.
For the Clippers, James Harden led with 17 points, while Norman Powell chipped in 15. Los Angeles struggled offensively, shooting just 34.5% from the field and 26.8% from beyond the arc, going 11 for 41 on three-point attempts.
Clippers center Ivica Zubac was limited to five points on 2-for-7 shooting, and Derrick Jones Jr. managed just six points. Kawhi Leonard and Terance Mann remained sidelined due to injuries, leaving the Clippers shorthanded against a resurgent Spurs squad.
Despite the victory, the Spurs faced an injury setback as forward Jeremy Sochan exited the game with a lower back injury. Sochan recorded four points and five rebounds in 15 minutes before leaving late in the second quarter.
The Spurs shot 49% from the field and 22.5% from three-point range, with contributions from across the roster. Julian Champagnie, Zach Collins, and Malaki Branham combined for 21 points off the bench, ensuring the Spurs maintained their lead throughout the game.
