The Minnesota Timberwolves dominated the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night, securing a decisive 108-80 victory at Intuit Dome. Julius Randle set the tone early, scoring 16 of his 20 points in the first quarter, as Minnesota claimed its third straight win.
Randle’s explosive first half, which included four three-pointers, gave the Timberwolves a commanding 27-point halftime lead. Anthony Edwards contributed 16 points, and Josh Minott added 13 off the bench as the Timberwolves’ balanced offense overwhelmed the Clippers.
The Clippers struggled from the outset, managing just 34.9% shooting from the field. Bones Hyland led Los Angeles with 18 points, including a season-high five three-pointers. Derrick Jones Jr. was the only other Clipper in double figures with 14 points.
Rudy Gobert anchored Minnesota’s defense with nine rebounds, five steals, and a block, while the Timberwolves collectively outrebounded the Clippers 50-46. Nickeil Alexander-Walker chipped in eight points and three assists to round out Minnesota’s contributions.
Los Angeles saw its nine-game home winning streak come to an end, highlighting the Clippers’ inconsistency on the second night of back-to-back games. James Harden, who played 24 minutes, managed just five points on 1-of-10 shooting.
This victory marked the Timberwolves’ largest margin of the season, with their lead ballooning to 41 points in the second half.
Minnesota’s cohesive performance comes amid a mid-season resurgence. After a four-game losing streak, the Timberwolves have found their rhythm, improving to 11-10. Los Angeles, now 14-10, will look to regroup and address glaring issues, particularly in their offensive execution.
