The Chicago Bulls secured a convincing 127-108 victory over the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night, extending Washington’s losing streak to 12 games.
Nikola Vucevic led the way with 19 points and 12 rebounds, helping the Bulls improve to 8-11 this season.
Coby White scored a team-high 21 points, while Zach LaVine added 18, as Chicago outscored Washington 40-18 in the second quarter.
This dominant stretch gave the Bulls their second-largest scoring quarter of the season and helped them maintain a double-digit lead throughout the second half.
The win was Chicago’s largest margin of victory this season and pushed them into a three-way tie in East Group C of the NBA Cup, alongside Boston and Atlanta, with a 2-1 record.
Kyle Kuzma paced the Wizards with 23 points, while rookie Alex Sarr contributed 20 points and hit four three-pointers, tying his career high.
Despite the strong performances, Washington’s defensive struggles persisted, as they allowed the Bulls to shoot 50% from the field and 35% from beyond the arc.
The Wizards also played without starting point guard Jordan Poole, who missed his second consecutive game with left hip soreness.
Chicago rebounded from a poor shooting start, converting 10 of their next 15 three-point attempts after hitting just 1 of 13 in the first quarter. Their defensive intensity also limited Washington to 42.9% shooting, the second-fewest points allowed by the Bulls this season.
Off the bench, Jalen Smith added 12 points and nine rebounds for Chicago, while Talen Horton-Tucker chipped in 13 points. The Wizards saw limited contributions from their reserves, with Corey Kispert and Carlton Carrington combining for just 17 points on 7-of-20 shooting.
The Wizards, now 2-14, have been eliminated from NBA Cup quarterfinal contention and remain winless in group play. Despite Kuzma’s leadership, Washington has yet to find a formula to stop its downward spiral.
